This month’s full moon offering connects with the Mother Goddess Danu of the Tuatha DĂ© Danann. She was forward about showing her true form, dark, otherworldly and plant-like. A mortal man ventures down into the subterranean otherworld and he sees a woman of luminous beauty. When I enquired with Danu why she replied clairaudiently with unparalleled immensity “he perceived what he wished to see”. And in act of love connected her being with his. Producing a child, and after experiencing a warm nurturing moment as a human mother sent her to be raised in the human world above. A story of a beautiful and brave moment of mortality from a powerful primordial Goddess, a dark fertile extension of the Great Mystery that we are all a part of.
