“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
“I cannot boast about my love for God because I fail Him daily, but I can boast about His love for me because it never fails!” —Unknown
Waiting to get it all together before you come before God is like doing your hair before you go to the hairdresser, so they don't see your hair a mess - it's not worth the time. God knows everything about you already, so you can bring your mess to Him anytime and He'll listen to you kindly and then fix it all for you (in His own way). There is absolutely nothing you can't bring to God, because He loves you! And God can use you, no matter what, unless you don't want Him to! Being perfect is not, and never was, a requirement of the job. Only Jesus had to be perfect, which He was and is. We get to come to Jesus just as we are and He loves us anyway.
“God can do extraordinary things through ordinary people. God may not have called you to be a pastor or a teacher or a missionary, per se. But it is clear that He is looking for a person to show Himself “strong on behalf of.” Think of all the ordinary people He has used to turn the world upside down. But also consider how utterly unqualified so many of them were. Noah got DRUNK. Abraham was too OLD. Jacob was a LIAR. Gideon was AFRAID. Rahab was A PROSTITUTE. Jeremiah and Timothy were considered TOO YOUNG. David had an AFFAIR. Moses was a MURDERER. Elijah was SUICIDAL at one point. Jonah RAN FROM GOD. Peter DENIED CHRIST. The Disciples FELL ASLEEP while PRAYING. The Samaritan Woman WAS DIVORCED five times. Timothy had AN ULCER. John the Baptist ATE BUGS. And Lazarus WAS DEAD! So what’s your excuse? This is not to condone what any of these people did, but it is to say that God used all of them!” —“A New Beginning” by Greg Laurie
Friend, if you think that God can only use you through your strengths, that is not so - your weaknesses are the real portal to His power. Amen! 🙌
PRAYER: Lord, I'm not even slightly perfect, but please use me to help You and others anyway. I know that You'll make me more like You along the way and that will be great. In Jesus' name, Amen.
