with the day coming to an end, he walked her back to her apartment. once she unlocked her door, realizing it’d be goodbye for the night — she wanted to try something. after they started dating, chouchou started teasing her about not knowing anything romantic. she didn’t know if norman felt the same way, so in an effort to at least try, she places her hands on his shoulders, lips pursed and eyes closed as she nervously leans in for his cheek.

to her surprise, she is instead met by his lips. her face reddens, pulling away after a small moment and the look on her face is evidently dazed. it seemed she would always remain a little awkward this way.

             " Nothing's bothering me. "

      At least that's what she told herself, after hearing the news of Shikadai becoming a Chunin, it left her to reflect on her own performance. If she was getting somewhere, if people were starting to acknowledge her— it was at the back of her head. A sigh leaves her lips, resting her chin on her palm as she looks outside the window.

             “ — Mm… ”

      The sound of his voice wakes her, eyes slowly opening to be greeted by his sky blues. She was asleep, arm resting on the table to support her head as she did. Fingers shift to press onto the bridge of her glasses, lids struggling to stay open as her lips part to answer him, hoping that she didn’t worry him.

      The inquiry was bound to come up, one of these days. Sarada was surprised to hear it, at the same time, she wasn't— it was a question that she'd been both on the receiving and the asking ends of. However, now that she's met him, spent time with him, she could give him an answer. Lowering her teacup, she takes a moment to ponder on her response.

             " He's ... " Instead, she starts with: " Boruto always calls him cool — saying that he's like the 'other hokage' because he's protecting us outside of the village. That he's the only person who rivals the Hokage, " Not that she disagrees, though she wouldn't voice it. " But he is strong, without a doubt. "

      Resting the cup back onto the table, she knows it isn't exactly a satisfactory answer.

             “ No, not when we have training today — ”

      Her breaths are heavy, feeling the heat rise in her body. It was her fault for exhausting herself the day prior, already when she was feeling under the weather; and it didn't take too long for Norman to notice she was off. She managed to change into her gear, but she barely made it out of her apartment when he found her— a stubborn one, she was.

      She feels her head ache, along with the sweat trickling down her face. He was right, he was right and she hated it.
