“ good. that’s.. all i could really hope for. ” moments like this are a little sparse between them - indications of genuine emotion, not just.. goofing around and being ridiculous. actual, genuine spots of seriousness weren’t unheard of in their friendship, they were just.. rare, given the type of people they both were. despite that, reed knew just how important gabry was to her, and she knew that he felt the same way about her. their bond.. it didn’t need to be put into words --- she loved him, whole-heartedly and completely, and she KNEW that feeling was reciprocated.
nevertheless, it was nice to hear it said aloud, and she reached out to take gabry’s hand tightly, squeezing it with her own, before linking their fingers together comfortably. “ i feel like myself when i’m with you, too.. more me than i can be with most people. i don’t think i’ve ever met someone who gets me more than you do. i’m lucky to have you in my life.. and i’m hoping that you’ll always be in it. i’m not sure how i’d get by without you, now. ”
