Gen Z/any teenagers following us: do you know what the term 'god-mod' means??
Just curious if this is like an archaic internet term or if it's still in use 🤔

God Modding
Okay, so I kinda hate to do this, but we need to have a serous conversation about God-Modding. Specifically about what it does and doesn’t mean.
God-Modding =
defining anything that my character does,
how (s)he reacts,
what (s)he is wearing,
making assumptions that my character has done something your character suggested
this can be especially hard in fight and smut scenes
don’t assume that a punch has landed or that a kiss made my muse weak at the knees. I know my character, I will tell you how they react and not make them invincible.
Assume that my characterization is exactly the same as someone else with the same character.
What it’s not =
using provided information (from cannon movies/comics etc. or from resources provided by the mun on bio or about pages) to make informed observations about my character
defining the space where the characters are interacting
suggesting a new action (but not assuming the character did it)
pretty much anything else
Please, please trust me to know the limits and emotional aspects of my character. I try to be a gracious and thoughtful Mun and want to take your own character’s parameters into consideration when I am writing. One of the reasons that responses take me so long is I am often reffering to your character’s pages and seeing what you are and aren’t cool with.
If you ever have have any questions, feel free to message me and i will get back to you as soon as I am able. I would much rather have you ask for clarification or even if a specific passage you’ve written is god-moddy, than god-mod my character. And if you see me breaking any of my own rules, please let me know.
I’m sorry if this seems out of the blue, but I have a few drafts that I’m really debating what to do with because they do God-mod my character and it feels very uncomfortable.
I love RPing with everyone, but I also want it to be a fun and safe experience for everyone involved. Please feel to respond or message me if you have any further questions.
God-Mod ftw!
