Today is a special day for Wheeling For The World - it’s Mike’s 32nd birthday! Mike grew up in inner city South Philly, surrounded by violence and poverty. The high school he attended had 2/3 graduates end up in prison or deceased. Growing up in an area where the odds weren’t in his favor, Mike knew it was up to him to change his fate. Mike began to push himself physically and mentally to be better and prove that it doesn’t matter where you come from, what matters is what you do with your life. Through the organization Education Works, Mike became a mentor to kids in his neighborhood and inspired them to graduate high school and go on to be bigger and better than they ever thought possible. Eventually Mike found himself at Seeds of Peace, a leadership development program that brings youth and educators from areas of conflict to camp in Maine. There, Mike met Belik and the dynamic duo have been an unstoppable force since. This is Mike’s 3rd World Record, and 2nd with Belik.
