Jesus fucking christ the Hijikata/Inudou chained-together-swordfight scene has so much sauce. Why are people not insane about this scene how is it not a Defining Series Moment in the ranks of the border crossing scene and the otter incident

I like a good fandom AU as much as the next guy but I find a particularly hilarious incongruity in 7th Division AUs. I think it's just that the particular flavor of everyone in the 7th is so reliant on the setting and circumstances that removing those leaves you with... what, exactly? Like, here's a faction of characters whose entire uniting principle is that they've all been groomed into an imperialist military cult of masculinity... but let's put them all in a modern high school for fun. Tsukishima is a cheerleader now.

I do find it very entertaining in Golden Kamuy how Koito and Tsukishima become relevant at about the same point in the plot, and your initial reaction will probably be "man, this Koito guy is crazy, it's funny how normal Tsukishima is in comparison," only for you to slowly realize over the course of ensuing events that Koito is actually pretty normal by 7th Division standards while Tsukishima is rather uniquely deranged

Finally started watching the WondLa show. It is. Hm.
