           BATTING EYELASHES, A POUTY FACE, & BIG EYES ARE A GOOD FORMULA TO GETTING WHAT SHE WANTS.it’s a tactic that she likes to use, but veronica wholeheartedly wanted archie there with her. it would mean archie would have to give up his weekend, but it meant being away from riverdale. veronica needs a little getaway with him & what better way but going to the MTV music awards. she would have accommodations ready for them, all archie really needed was to go on a shopping spree. she didn’t mind PROVIDING, she had the means. he is her boyfriend after all.

 ❝ would you really want to pass off a WEEKEND with your girlfriend and being surrounded by musical talent such as yourself? the music industry is all about connections. ❞ she knows how the game goes in any ASPECT of the entertainment industry, it’s about setting ROOTS, letting them grow while showcasing TALENT. veronica knows archie’s music, it’s not something without substance. ❝ i want you to be my date and it’s one night. we can EXPLORE new york for the rest of it. i’ll show you all the places i frequent.❞ hand reaches for his because she wants him to be with her. ❝ and i want you to be able to pursue the dreams you’ve always wanted. ❞ sometimes she wonders if archie’s sweetness rubs off on her, like her BLOOD SUGAR is rising high because she wants to show she can be kind. they’ve had this balance before, making their own WORLD together. this can work, she knows it.

“Listen, man – if I purported to know what was going on in girls’ heads all the time, I’ve have started an advice business, charging burgers by the hour.” Although, it was entirely true that people did still ask him advice about a myriad of things, and Archie had been known to consort with him on many occasions about the woes of his love life. Knowing very little about it personally, the Jones boy was strangely perceptive and usually had some of the best words of wisdom to offer up. 

He was also equally used to odd looks. Be it his choice of clothes for the day, or any number of reasons, people found him odd to look at. That hat accounted for some of it. Feet stretching out against the sidewalk from the bench they’d made home for the better part of the last half hour, waiting in the summer sun for Archie’s mom to finally pick them up ( with the redhead’s car, once again, out of commission ), Jughead thought idly to himself about what would have garnered such a look from the girl passing by. He glanced towards his best friend, noting that he was, in fact, wearing pants. Check. No food on his face. Check. Brows pulling together, he frowned until the realization dawned on him. “Dude. That was the girl from that show you played a few weeks back, or whatever. The one where you basically electrocuted yourself.” A grin to wryly cross his lips, he teeth flashed mischievously. “I think she was surprised to see you alive.” 

               “ You know, I hear what you’re saying, babe, but consider this... I regret nothing? ” How he’d found her at the next town over, ordering Taco Bell was beyond her. Had he bugged the car? Did he even know how to do that? More importantly: had she been so focused on her goal that she hadn’t noticed he’d been tailing her all the way from her driveway? 

“ Look, here’s the thing. I’ve been thinking about it LONG and HARD, and well, I don’t think this diet life is for me. I like the extra ten pounds! They add character! ” Yeah, she was fooling no one. “ Don’t give me that look, Andrews! I’m CURVY, and I like it! ”

              YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DON’T MATTER LATELY. somehow she’s taken a backseat to everything, to archie. veronica feels like their world doesn’t exist anymore, where it was simply VERONICA & ARCHIE. instead she feels like she’s teetering on a block of ICE, she’s just waiting to drown, waiting to let herself freeze. she sees the signs, it would take a dead RODENT not to see what’s going on. veronica cannot allow herself to be selfish, because it’s betty, it’s her best friend. and who is she ? she is the veronica lodge, she’d be the ANNA WINTOUR of riverdale. but she admits her time spent her has made her jello. 

         she’s too scared to CONFRONT it right now. maybe he doesn’t even see it himself. varnished hands cup his cheek, she decides she’d put on a smile. she’s done that for so many of her followers. but archie is not a merely a sheeple, he’s the boy she’s in love with. he’s her boyfriend. veronica wishes he could see his REMORSE is affecting her.  she’d never want to be the second girl, but that’s how it feels. it’s complicated considering betty needs all of them. she’d always been their SUPPORT, now they needed to carry that weight, hold the TIDES, & manage what betty does regularly.  ❝ nothing’s wrong archiekins. ❞ she could be HEAVY-HANDED, a petty veronica is not a pretty picture. she’d sink her claws where it would hurt. then she’d leave her victim to be disposed of.

         ❝ you’re distracted, right ? why don’t you go see betty? i do adore that about you.❞ smile because he won’t see you’re hurting.
