Gmail Sign In  This week, Google announced that Gmail and Google Apps users can now avail themselves of a simpler form of two-step verification. When you have multiple accounts, it is sometimes difficult for you to log into all of them at the same time. Gmail allows a person to register multiple accounts. However, in normal way, you can simply log into a Gmail account on the web browser which you are using. It's like one of those I forgot my password and had the wrong backup email address on file” stories.

That was the first thing I did, then it starts syncing and you think you're good to go. However, soon you get a message saying that your Google account information is incorrect. So I don't know what's going on with this. I came from from BlackBerry so I'm shocked to see that this is an issue here. Email set up was so easy on BlackBerry. My Playbook Email app however is still asking me to put in the correct password to log into the IMAP password for So it still does not work.

If you have apps that use your Google account, you will need to create application-specific passwords for them. Common apps that require this step are smartphones, mail clients that use IMAP/POP (such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird or Apple Mail), and chat clients. You'll be given a password. Use that password with Windows 8 Mail App. While the issue is purportedly affecting a large chunk of users, it appears it poses no immediate threat to your online security.

After you have added and confirm your phone number, click TURN ON to enable Google 2-step verification. If you turn on 2-step verification, each time you log in Gmail, a message containing the confirmation code will be sent to your phone number which you had registered 2-step verification. Without this code, you will not be able to log in to Gmail. If you turn on 2-step verification, the ability of losing your Gmail account becomes very difficult.
