Itâs not as if he knew his way around St. Petersburg well, and asking Viktor to take him around would have probably been suspicious...but still he wanted to do something to celebrate the otherâs birthday.Â
â...Viktor, is there anything you want to do today?â
â  what do you mean someone spiked the butterbeer ?  what am i supposed to drink now ?  â    //    @glxciesâ  /   â„
âȘ  â  ⫠ââââ a quiet exhale, and heâs up on his feet with the half-finished bowl of katsudon in his hands, leaving viktor mid-sentence. just listening to his all-too optimistic voice drone on and on and on over that pig makes him SICK TO HIS STOMACH. whatâs so great about him other than the fact that he can SKATE â if he DARED call his lousy attempts skating.
     â  SHUT UP ALREADY !!  â  Â

he had only just stepped off the ice, his chest heaving as he let out a harsh exhale. relaxing, relief. he had finished the program, despite it barely being up to his regular standards. he wouldn't win - he wouldn't win anyway, not with a certain russian skater - and he probably wouldn't get second. his only hope was third, or else he wouldn't hit the podium at all. and then he still felt like he would be scraping his way there, like he didn't really belong. nobody was there to greet him at the kiss and cry: but he was used to that. after sitting down and getting his score (just enough to overtake to third place, but he was certain he wouldn't stay), the adrenaline was still running through his veins, like an itch that just wouldn't be scratched. roxas ran a hand through blond hair, sighing. if only he hadn't messed up that step sequence...

Rise from Ashes
Almost 10 years ago she wouldâve told herself she wouldnât have gone back onto the ice after a small competition that left her with an abysmal score and a deep scar across both heart and mind. She had gotten into designing, had her own site where people could commission their own personal orders for their costumes. It felt a little touch and go with a little bit of income.
However, she notified everyone that the order sheet was closed due to her going on vacation. What she never said was that the inspiration had faded several weeks ago. Things felt stagnant, the same, never changing. She had picked up flight tickets to St. Petersburg, Russia a while in advance after a while of immense planning, contemplating, and she walked away from the business for a while. Something though drew her attention once she had left the airport. And she wasnât due to check in at the hotel for at least a few hours, she just dragged her bag on wheels behind her and just went.
Now, she found herself standing at the edge of the public ice rink, at a time slot where no one was there and a few Euros poorer. Angelique glanced around at the stands, it was an empty space, no one was sitting there, staring, judging, or anything. It left her perfectly alone. Taking off her coat she set it down on the wall and carefully removed her blade guards, the metal of the blades were colored a cobalt blue, still sharp and in good condition. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a set of earbuds and inserted them into her phone, which went into her pocket.
A little unsteady she glided towards the center and closed her eyes, it wasnât until she pressed play did she allow the music to play. From the starting position, she moved with a slow saddened step sequence. She let the music guide her movements, and it wasnât fluid by any means, she was stiff even as she entered a spread eagle before taking to a Salchow, it had only turned into a single and out of practice from the sport she had to catch herself on hand on the exit. At least she hadnât fallen flat on her face yet.

Two hours of a time difference did little to take away from Phichitâs energy in the morning. In fact, it did the opposite. In the foggy rink of Hasetsu, he felt just as awake as if it was 9 in the morning instead of 7 because, well, for him it still was! He liked this kind of jetlag.Â
He was a bit surprised though. For whatever reason, he never had an image of Viktor as a morning person, and he was glad that the place Yuuri came from was on the southern side of Japan, or the cold might have locked him to his bed. But he was here for more than a friendly visit, and as the sound of doors opening reached his ears, he glided to the edge of the rink, fast and feet crossing constantly, too excited for this to be just like any other practice. He only took a moment to bow at the approaching coach for a second before his hands moved apart to clutch at the rink edge.
âViktor, youâre finally here! Iâm all warmed up and I canât wait to start working with you!â

âV-Viktor! Why are we watching this again?â Yuuri couldnât stop himself from stammering, pressing closely against Viktor and desperately clinging onto his shirt. The both of them were huddled in the family room, deep within the family side of the inn. The room was dark - apparently to âget in the moodâ - while a movie (which Mari had picked out for them) was playing on the TV in front of the two.
A horror movie.
Horror movies and Katsuki Yuuri donât mix well.
âI canât look Viktor! P-please tell me when itâs over!â Yuuri turned his face away from the screen, pressing it into his makeshift teddy bear aka Viktor. His arms were thrown across Viktorâs torso, hugging him for dear life, as if he was the terrified protagonist in the horror they were watching instead of just viewers.
