steampunk: everything is powered by steam
dieselpunk: everything is powered by diesel
solarpunk: everything is powered by green energy, like solar
glucosepunk: The sweet millenium is coming to a bloody end. Our most powerful bioengines are running on fumes since the New Candy Emperor's raiders took over the last cane sugar plantation of the country. I witnessed one of the engines die last night. Its flesh turned grey with a shudder and I am sure that if it had a voice, it would've screamed. What a terrible thing we have created, that mass of cells just existing to make syrup into energy. It is made in our image yet suffers an un-life of endless consumption and creation, a senseless burning.
My people and I are talking. There are rumors of a land far north, where sweet, golden corn syrup flows endlessly and nobody wants for anything. If we ration our last reserves we may be able to make it past the mountains with our gliders...
