The Moro River Canadian War Cemetery
Mark’s only request during the planning of the trip to Italy was that we drive to Ortona to pay our respects at the Moro River Canadian War Cemetery. The graves hold the remains of 1615 men who died during the WW II Battle of Ortona, most of them Canadian. Ortona also has a small museum dedicated to the battle. The website is misleading, saying it is open from 9 AM to 5 PM. A call needs to be made to arrange for a tour, something we failed to do.
