Also, smth I noticed while ranting about my brilliant players is the interesting takes Sin and Glorbus explore about identity.
Both have given up some fundamental parts of themselves to submerge themselves in their Acts:
For Sin, she still has ties to her old self that results in this conflict of her old desires haunting her vs this brand new self with a fresh life and new wants.
For Glorbus, he never even had the privilege to chase what he desired and has long given up his dreams. It's not a matter of old self vs new self, but grappling w a startling lack of self to begin with.
They also both had moments where they looked in their reflection and it was so Fascinating to watch how they both realized smth is "wrong" with them:
For Sin, her body is entirely, physically changed, but she still retains her old soul. Her new body is her Dream, Ideal body and yet...she still senses smth is Wrong. She suffers from body dysmorphia, yes, but there is smth fundamentally Off with how she is now. She knows this is "killing" Caeda and her new body is a physical representation of that ("I miss your freckles...").
For Glorbus, he is physically the same, but his soul, his life, his personhood is barely his own. In trying to make a name for himself, he sacrificed his entire identity and allowed the audience to pick and choose what they want to see from him. He is the result of what the Audience wants, not Him, resulting in a pathetic, humiliating jester position that everyone else enjoys.
Even if how they approach it is different, both look in the mirror and see someone they no longer recognize. And it's all been a result of the choices they made.
"I am not what I am."
