hello tumblr users do you want to be a citizen scientist and assist NOAA and NASA with data collection? with everyone aware of pending budget cuts with funding for federal weather and space programs, YOU personally can assist them with data collection!
the GLOBE Observer app is a tool that you can use to help nasa and other programs with quick observations. there is one where you take some pictures of the sky and check off weather conditions. this allows them to confirm what the satellites are telling them the weather is like here
you can measure the heights of trees! you can seek out mosquitoes or help them observe land cover. there's so much you can do as a person who exists in a place that they can't do with satellites.
anyone can sign up and be a citizen scientist. you can also create an account as a teacher or as a scientist, with other observations.
