Well, we see male Hypergamy ALL the time. Men tend to look for the most beautiful woman to be with that they can find. Looks are a valuable asset to them that they can show off to family and friends. Looks are so valued, that men sometimes often overlook other qualities about a woman if her appearance is pleasing. Our evolution and animal nature makes us reach for the highest partner we can “get”. This is Hypergamy. Female Hypergamy is fascinating because females value different things than males due to our biology. This is why you sometimes see a beautiful woman with a wealthy man who isn’t attractive. (Anna Nicole Smith and her husband are a great example) She looks up to this man, therefore he is attractive to her. He provides value and can provide for her and her future gene pool. 👶 But who am I kidding, usually women want it all!! 🤣 So this is why women will often keep searching for the most eligible bachelor in ALL categories for themselves. Looks, status, and alpha traits... these are all so valuable and attractive to women and determine a long term relationship candidate. This is female Hypergamy. 💃 Because women bare children, and that strain takes 9 months and then a lifetime of care, biologically a woman will always seek out her strongest mate to compliment her. Men biologically just seek out beauty because their biology isn’t thinking of the future gene pool and implications like women do. We can’t control these desires and our own biology, even in 2020.
