Ignoring the Gods has consequences.

He'd thought he was still dreaming when he first noticed it. It began with the tip of his tail, his body unwinding as if he was nothing more than scraps of fabric like his daughter's dolls.

At first he thought he could hide it. If it was just the tip of his tail, if he moved slowly and carefully- He'd hide it and perhaps it would go away. Perhaps it was just some lingering magic from a temple they'd searched and it would fade.

It didn't. He couldn't.

It was his son, RockTorrent, who discovered the dark magic. He had only been playing around, only teasing his father, looking to play-fight as they had done a thousand times before. But as his father snapped from true anger, looking to bite his son's fins in warning, his body further unwound-

His son's horrified look will forever be etched into his mind.

It was decided then what they would do. SeaBerry had found a broken waystone just that morning, as obvious as any sign Amaya had ever gotten. RockTorrent would go to Tidelord's realm to serve and hopefully beg mercy and more time through his service. Seaberry would take up the quest to find Tidelord and beg forgiveness for her mother's betrayal
