DAY 1
• Journey to London🇬🇧
I flew from Moscow with three suitcases and a backpack. The total weight of the luggage was 62 kg (which is more than I weigh myself). Fortunately, two suitcases flew to London in the luggage compartment, and I could calmly worry about how to drag all this to the station later.
At the Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow), an officer checked my Covid Test, Passenger Locator Form, and even a confirmation from my accommodation in Glasgow.
But in London, I stood for 2.5 hours in the queue for passport control, and officers did not ask me a single question - they silently put a seal. In my opinion, they were simply distracted from their afternoon tea☕️
• Journey to Glasgow🏴
I respect feminism, equality and everything that comes with it. But there is physiology. Physically, women are weaker than men. And when a two-meter pumped-up taxi driver responds to a polite request to help me to get one of the suitcases to the car replies: "You can handle it yourself" - it's weird.
Fortunately, at the Euston Station, I invented a spell: "I'm so nervous to move to university!" This spell materializes polite guys, who will help with everything, prompt everything and even exchange £5 so that you can take a trolley.
• Journey to the accomodation🏴
Thanks to the queue at the airport, I missed my train and got on the next one. I was expected to be at the accommodation at 9:00 pm but arrived at 09:34 pm.
I stood in front of the door with a coded lock, unsuccessfully phoned all the emergency numbers of the administration, and was already ready to drag myself and 62 kilos to the nearest hotel.
My neighbor saved me. She let me into the hall and we were looking for someone who could give me the keys for half an hour, at least.
Finally, an administrator was found, and he let me into my little room under the stairs (warm and cozy!).
• Politeness and friendliness🐥
This is a topic for a separate post, here I can only say that in Glasgow (comparing to London), everyone is madly cute. There is not a single question or problem that others would not help you to solve. They will also treat you to tea with sandwiches.
To be continued...
