Christians are called to make a commitment like missionaries even if they don’t do traditional missionary work.

Sometimes we are the only Bible non-Christians read.

Show God as His image bearers with character.

CHARACTER AND MISSIONS (seminar)

God values character more than appearance, abilities, and gifts.

Without substance, nothing will last long term.

Don’t do great things; do little things with great love.

To develop strong character:

meditate on God’s word; don’t medicate on things that encourage escapism.

develop your heart in everything you do

develop your skills; be dedicated to whatever you do.

God is the only one who loves me more than I love Him.

The gospel is either everything or nothing.

MIssions means to use your gifts in a place without many Christians in such a way as to bring God glory, and reveal His mercy, grace, and love for all peoples.

True giving begins with sacrifice. Think about Jesus’ offering of his life.

Make your life like the pouring of ridiculously expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet.

The Christian life: “no” to pleasure, “yes” to pain, “wow” @ Jesus

We don’t fight FOR our victory, but FROM His victory.

We can have joy after tribulations and peace during tribulations because of Jesus.

You have to take care of your spiritual health before all else. before you can help someone else, or other parts of your life. Take care of your soul.

Our accessories may be working and functional, but it won’t matter if our engine isn’t working. Our engine = our relationships with God. 

Do a few things and do them well. Go deep and focused rather than wide and shallow.

Make your life a mission, not an intermission.
