Oh yeah...This thing
So I just came across the story me and my girlfriend are writing...Post apocalyptic
White hills stretches as far as Neva could see, which wasn't very far, with all the snow falling heavily around him. Even his giggles had snow covering them. The wind rattled his bones and pricked his exposed skin, turning a bit blue. While the roaring winds screamed in his already numb ears, making him since in pain. He looked around desperately I'm the cloud of white, the black outline of his father's coat was nowhere in sight amongst the blizzard. Oh, of he hadn't wandered off, he would be home by now warm and not so god dang cold!
Something pulled him over here though. Like a magnet attracting metal, he walked without a second thought, not even looking back. Now he's lost, like all the other times. He was now looking for shelter to survive the never-ending blizzard he loved in. Neva trudged through the thick blanket of snow, one foot at a time. His blue, bare hands, shielding his face from the knife like snow. In the distance he could make out the shape. It was the shape of a house!
After the long journey over to the abandoned home he had settled in. Bang! The door slammed behind him from the dangerous winds. He fell face first into the a ratty carpet. Lifting his body off the ground, with a groan. He shook it off like it was nothing, he stretched out his fingers to get feeling back into them. He looked around at his surroundings, it felt cozy. He picked up a broken picture frame off of the ground. He removed the broken glass and ran his fingers over it. He took in every smooth carvings if the frame. He took note of a smiling family, a mother, father, and a little boy. They were skinny, pale and their skin looked like dirty. Yet they all looked genuinely happy. Neva set the picture down, gently, on a dusty side table. He turned around to scan the room one more time. A couch in the center of the room was torn, tattered and warn out, it's yellow and red roses half gone on the tan fading background. The couch was so torn out that it was scattered across the floor, over the carpet. The wooden floor boards has missing pieces, even the tables where missing prices. Dirt covered the age-old, peeling wallpaper. The floor was like walking on a black vortex, it was only visible of the light shone through the boarded up window to the left of him.
Silence. Is all he heard, or rather the house lacked sound. The floor would creak under the weight of him, if he shifted it would scream at him. The thick walls blocked out most of the blizzards wind, making this rather scary house seem peaceful.
"Hello?" Neva called out. His voice rang off all the walls and sang back at him. Since he heard nothing he continued to walk around the house. Neva felt something knock against his foot, he froze in place. Slowly his head lowered down to see what it was, a sigh if relief escaped his chapped lips. A can was what gave him such a fright. Out of the corner of his eye, Neva saw a figure swing from the door frame and attach to his back, dirty hands clawing at his face.
"Ah!" Neva shouted and thrashed. He ungracefully threw himself backwards, his find slid from under him. He was sent falling to the ground. It would have hurt a lot more, if he didn't have his attacker still latched to his back. The attacker in his back grew limp and unlatched from him. Neva didn't hesitate to stand up, quickly grabbing his backpack from the floor. He took a run out of the house. Back out into the blizzard though he didn't care much about the snow and wind, that was until it blocked his vision. He didn't even notice the lack of land till he was hurdling towards a pit full of layers of ice. The impact of Neva's' body on the ice wasn't pretty, somehow he managed to shatter the fragile layers. Screaming till his lungs burned and snow invaded his mouth. What seemed like hours had finally came to an end. He was laying groggily on the solid ground again. Groaning he say up rubbing his sore back.
Panic was the first thing he felt even before his pain hit him. He didn't even bother standing up to know he was in a gigantic cavern with a hole at the top where the ice had previously been. Neva sighed before scanning the area, where he see... A body? He gasped when he saw the glowing eye and the half-smirk, half-smile from the distance. An icy laugh came from whatever it was, causing Neva to shudder and back up against the caverns wall. As it came into the light he saw not a monster but a little girl? He could now see her face clearly, one side was white as snow, and the other pitch black, as if someone had painted her perfectly. The black half had a frown and a glowing yells eye with a blood red pupil. While the white half had a patch on her eye, it had a skull on it. She giggles and the confused man looked around before relaxing.
"Uh... Hello!" He said with a laugh. A little girl, that's what he was so scared of. The thought gave the tadura a low chuckle.
"Hello." She said, quietly, but she didn't move. Neva decided to move closer to her a bit before speaking again.
"So. You friendly?" he asked giving her a nervous smile.
"Depends, are you a dick or not?" She asked, the smile faded immediately from Neva's face replaced by a shocked expression.
"Excuse me? What did you say?" He asked nervously, taking a step back.
"You heard me! Are you a jackass! I've delt with too many of those and if you're no different, I might as well leave you to die, or better yet feast on your corpse. I've been trapped in some ice for quite some time and I'm so hungry and thirsty!" She said and stomped her foot. A hiss escaped her lips.
"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly to the little girl. In which she glared and hisses at him, once again making him back up.
"No! I think I sprained my ankle! Monkey boy! Help a lady out would ya?!" She basically ordered him. He shuffled over to her, letting her climb onto his back. He could hear and feel a long sniff of him. Soon she loudly talked in his ear.
"You smell like a wet dog!" She exclaimed. He felt her dryish tongue glide across his skin, making him shudder and cringe when her giggles reached his ears.
"EW! What the hell is wrong with you!" He screamed almost dropping her. The preferable option in the situation would be to leave her, but the morals Neva's father burned, deep, into his mind wouldn't let him. With a inner groan, he shut up and dealt with it. He managed to find his backpack and grabbed a rope with a hook attached to one end if it, and smiles.
"So, you got a name kid?" He asked. The little lady previously on his back, now currently rested on the ground near him, trying not to get in his way. She watches him as he crouched down and fumbled with his equipment as if they were new and unfamiliar to him.
"Yeah it's Aadi. And if I was you, is watch my back." She said in a matter-of-fact l like tone, making him look at her.
"You're an odd one aren't you. I don't think I'll get use to those comments." He said.
"Well you soon won't have to." She said in a smartass tone.
Neva focused on the rope in front of him when a hand reaches out and smacked up the rope. "Hey!" Neva exclaimed but Aadi ignored him. "I got it! I used to like in Alaska where my dad let me explorer with him" she explained and Neva nodded when she untangled the rope. She stood up leaning on Nevas shoulder while she helped attacked the belt around Neva's waist. "Thanks I've only used it once before" He said fixing the belt attacked to the rope. He then felt hands dig into his sides tickling him. "S-Stop it!" He said while holding back a laugh. Aadi couldn't hold her laugh back too and hit him on the back of the head. "I didn't do anything!" "You remind me of my brother. I hate him" she said and handed him the rope. They walked over to the edge of the cavern and looked up. Neva then threw it over and watched the hook fly over the cavern wall. Aadi climbed onto Neva's back once again and was awfully quite.
