drawing my fav tamagotchi characters hehe💖
their so adorable and silly lol
I was blown away by the reception to the first batch of Mystery Dungeon style Tamagotchi portraits— I’m so glad people are enjoying them! Here’s two more: Ginjirotchi and Maskutchi! Only two more P1 adults to go, since I already did Mametchi and Kuchipatchi. (Unless I decide to do Oyajitchi and Bill, but if I do Bill it’ll probably be his classic US design since the modern one freaks me out lmao)
These two were both fun to make, but Maskutchi especially so (he is my favorite after all) because he’s so expressive. It was really tough to get his eyes right without making him either look cross-eyed or like he was looking in two directions at once. I’ve been really enjoying dabbling in pixel art largely because of things like that— it’s a fun challenge to try and express what you want within the limitations of how many pixels these portraits afford. Similarly, the difficulties with Ginjirotchi’s portraits came from trying to give him a different “flavor” than Kuchipatchi, if you will, since their bodies (and faces to an extent) are so similar in shape, especially when there isn’t as much detail to work with to differentiate them.
Also, just as a note for the upload schedule: these portraits will be every other week from here on out, two per upload. I love making these but I won’t have time for much else if I do them every week!
