This is so awesome. It's been way too long since an opponent worthy of my skills has shown up.
β Kyouya, episode 2
I've decided to stick around here for a while. (β¦) Besides I found a really strong opponent here as well.

Funny how battling a bull all day makes you hungry for beef.
β Ginga, episode 4
His sense of humor is so underrated.
I'm travelling around the whole country. I search for stronger rivals in order to become the very strongest blader.
β Ginga, episode 1
I'll say it as many times as I want: it's not my habit to battle weak opponents.
β Kyouya, episode 4
The only name that matters
"Kyouya! And everyone.β

βGinga and the others are finally left in the past.β

"Kyouya. Guys.β
- Ginga, episode 134 (beyblade metal fury)
Ginga, Kyouya, do you know that the others have names too ? Maybe they don't seem important to you, but I'm pretty sure they are for them.
Becoming stronger at Beyblade
We all have fun by summarize up Ginga's speech about Beyblade by "the power of friendship" but, in fact, he never said you need friends to support you to become a better blader. He clearly told his vision of the Beyblade when he explained to Kyouya how to act as a true blader and become stronger, after the Wolf Canyon :
"Beyblade isn't something you can get stronger at alone. When you challenge yourself, take everything your opponent delivers and increase the connection between you and your bey, then you begin to grow stronger."
- episode 10 of Beyblade Metal Fusion
Ginga talked about the support of his friends, but it only looked like a bonus, not the most important matter. There are three key points and Kyouya checks all of them.
Kyouya challenges himself constantly, by going in the wilderness despite being a city boy, by returning into the Wolf Canyon after the first failure. He fights strong opponents, like Ginga, this rival he wants so much to defeat. And he has a strong bond with Leone, that he had from... forever, in fact. And he increases this bond by fighting, training and talking to Leone.
To be a good blader, you don't need people to encourage you. You don't need them to give you their power and their energy.
"Taking all the energy you had allowed me to grow stronger."
- Ginga to Kyouya, episode 10
So, everything about Kyouya being a lone lion and not needing friends isn't incoherent with his actual strenght.

Bad-ass quotes from Ginga
Episode 36
βThere are no walls that can't be overcome. No matter how tall the wall is, I'll get past it, even if I have to finish it apart.β
(a little reminder: the wall is a metaphor about Ryuuga, so... *clear throat*)
Episode 104
βI'm supposed to believe that I was chosen because you say so?β
Episode 105
βGet ready kitty. (...) This is the new power of Pegasus. Just watch it and weep!β
Bonus: This time you believe Ginga comfort a friend... but he wasnβt
Episode 111
βHe's right Yuuki. We can do a breakdown of all this later, okay? As long as you try, it doesn't matter if you lose.β
βBut losing because you didn't try at all is unforgivable.β
I just love how Ginga and Ryuuga like to annoy Kyouya in the bey-battle
"My Pegasus is by far the powerful, because it's an attack-type."
- Ginga to Kyouya, episode 103
"Do you really think a defense-type bey can actually match the power in my L-Drago?"
- Ryuuga to Kyouya, episode 106
They both know this is a sensitive point for him XD
Ginga vs Ryuutarou
Ginga: Did I hear you say losing?
Ryuutarou: Yes. No matter how hard you try the future cannot be changed. You should gracefully give up.
Ginga: No way. I'll never ever give up. Pegasus is still spining.
Ginga vs Reiji
Ginga: Why am I smiling you say? I gotta be honest here because you're pretty funny.
Reiji: Funny?
Ginga: That's what I said. I'm not scared of you.
Ginga, later:That attack gave me a bit of trouble. I was suddenly chased into a corner with no way to hit back. But when I battle such a strong opponent rather than getting scared I get excited.
Ginga vs Ian Garcia
You show me the counter attack for the Cyclone attack. I have to thank you for that.
Ginga vs Damian
You did as you were told then become some kind of lab rat test subject. But even so it just doesn't matter because I can't lose to you. I simply can't.
You don't know the joy of winning or the bitterness of defeat. You've never had a battle that set your heart on fire. I will not lose to some petri dish experiment like you
