The color and the lighting in this documentary are really dark. It fits the vibe of the documentary. Nas and his community struggled a lot since he was a little boy. When Nas and his brother are talking about how they grew up in the project buildings, on the streets, the color of the shot provides the audience a sense of their struggle. It was dark but noisy. The third screenshot, a dark red color, provides that feeling: dark but noisy.
I really like the camera setting of the last screenshot. This is my first time seeing this kind of shot. It is over the shoulder, but the front of his view is fully blurred out.
