fellow kageyama stan anon here and i can relate to avoiding fandom written content so much!! i've seen so many bad takes on kags that i'm super picky when it comes to reading stuff about him. i feel like it's bc most people project their insecurities of someone who's 'better' than them to his character that they don't realize he's just some dumb hardworking volleyball idiot lol
Oh I 100% won't read Kags fics for the most part (my wife and some fellow Kageyama lovers I've really liked are about it) I'm stupid picky about my characterizations lining up with canon content and the amount of ooc for Kageyama is one of the worst (Atsumu and Sakusa probably being the front runners for ooc content). Like they just take his look and apply a totally different personality. Ignoring the fact this is a man who constantly chokes on food and little volleyball fans adore and he loves a stuffed alien toy. He's dorky and weirder than shit and kinda a fool with zero suave about him and then people write him as like "a ladies killer" and I'm just like...no...oh god no. Man communicates in grunts and clicks and can't function without diary products nothing about him is a smooth talker. Hence why he's perfect. We stand a giant six two inept nerd in this house. I'm a Kageyama lover first and human second.
