finally found ghs jp raws this is great. i think the differences in judgement boy's parting lines are very interesting so ill just ramble about it
in the anime, he goes "kore ga shinjitsu. hai, oshimai". the first half is pretty straightfoward, meaning "that is the truth." and the hai oshimai is something like "the end/that's all"
the english dub anime line: "it was your decision, and now you have to live with it." im definitely biased bc i grew up w the anime english dub but i'll always love this line. it's wordier compared to the soul collector english line, but i think it very much communicates the finality of choices made and the dismissiveness. it's also an interesting translation in placing even more focus on the viewer and the choices they make, while the jp line is more simply about the concept of truth
finally, with the soul collector english dub line-- "and that's the truth, see ya!"--you can definitely see the first half being a direct translation of the japanese line. the "see ya" is very different, more a lighthearted parting, but english soul collector judgement boy from his dialogue and voice does just seem more friendly as a whole. very charming in his own way :) i love the delivery of this line too
