"If you ask me," Dorian said indignantly, "it's because they believe that manners have gone out of style." He sniffed. "No attempt at class anymore!"
"Oh, come now," Beau chided. "As if you weren't foolish and impetuous when you were young and alive... And old and alive... And old and dead."
Dorian's jaw hung agape in offense. "How dare you! I was always the perfect gentleman."
"He squandered the family fortune on wild parties. And a petting zoo."
"I was providing entertainment to the community, as was my philanthropic duty."
Beau rolled his eye. "Mortals have always been foolish. It's part of their charm. If they weren't, very few of them would ever come here."
