night has fallen in the forests. Xiaoliu had missed out the time to return to Qingshui, all for the measly harvest he had in his basket. It was disappointing, but at least there would still be some profit in the morning. He had tripped into a pond, too, and needed to start a fire soon to chase the cold winds away.
❛ What an unfortunate day ! ❜ He breathed out angrily to the small fire. Just then, his stomach growled. Xiaoliu sighed in frustration and leaned back against the crook of an old tree. He was tired and hungry and didn’t wish to move, but he must. At least to take off his outer coat and dry it on the branch.
A snap in his surroundings caused him to turn around hurriedly, ❛ Who’s there ?! ❜ Fortunately, the eyes of deities held up well against the night. Still, he couldn’t make out anyone in the forest.
❛ I’m your mind giving you someone to talk to. ❜ the cheeky voice of @ghostlypath replied.
Xiaoliu quickly took up a particularly thick piece of wood and dipped it into the fire to use as a makeshift torch. He shined it frantically in front of him, ❛ Sir, don’t do anything rash, okay ? I — I have powers ! ❜ Hopefully enough to deal with whoever was out there.
