Egon Spengler x reader random Headcanons

(Reminder a lot of these come from my own personal ideas with my OC x canon! Please take them with a grain of salt!! If u don’t like them just scroll ^^)

٠࣪⭑ He loves going on dates in the woods. For example, going mushroom hunting with you! A long walk through the forest, sun seeping through leaves overhead, a light breeze as the two of you talk science and look for fungi? Perfect day.

٠࣪⭑ He kinda sucks at cooking. He’s measured, calculated, and good with instructions-

But he just has poor luck with cooking. He’s a little better at baking but still manages to burn stuff.

You’re definitely better than him at the activity so sometimes he’ll try to impress you with his skills- but still the two of you are left with a kitchen mess and burnt cookies.

You don’t make him feel bad about it though, ypu thank him while taking a bite into the overdone treat

And of course he gets that rare bashful grin when you do

٠࣪⭑ Glasses fog up when he’s flustered

٠࣪⭑ He hates his hair to get messed up but he loves it when you play with it, he sort of melts

٠࣪⭑ He isn’t the first to initiate things often but when he does he’s so subtle and gentle about it. Sometimes when he randomly pulls you into a hug, it can be almost robotic at first. But as soon as you reciprocate, he relaxes into it.

٠࣪⭑ He doesn’t sleep much. He is the last to fall asleep between you two and the first to wake up. However, when you finally get him to lay down, he always wants to hold you a little longer

٠࣪⭑ Has a thing for you tugging on his tie

٠࣪⭑ Sometimes you randomly kiss his nose. His face will turn bright red whenever you do

٠࣪⭑ He has a notebook fully dedicated to everything about you. Your favorite restaurant, favorite colors, stores, hobbies, everything.

Sometimes you’ll find little sticky notes littered around the house or firehouse with details about you scribbled down

He’s documented every date and flirtatious comment between the two of you and you find it oddly endearing

٠࣪⭑ It definitely get to you when you catch him in his black undershirt thay he wears under his flight suit. He doesn’t understand at all. Why would you like him all dirty after a job? With his hair a mess and dirt smudged on his face. Wouldnt you prefer the neat and tidy look? Makes no sense at all to him but you turn into a puddle every time

٠࣪⭑ Sometimes when he’s tired and doesn’t want to admit it, he’ll surprise you by wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder. He’ll get that drained look on his face, eyes closed, hair just a little messy and eyebrows knitted. When he hums that little groan and nuzzled into your neck, you know he’s in desperate need of a break

٠࣪⭑ Doesn’t talk much about his childhood but you know he’s got some trauma in that area. You’re patient with him about it and understand why he is the way he is. He probably felt pressured to always do good, always be smart.

You constantly reassure him that he’s enough and that he’s the smartest person you know

He enjoys the praise

٠࣪⭑ You make fun of his silly two piece pajamas he wears. Even in his sleep he’s all proper

٠࣪⭑ He also has a very neat and organized clothing situation going on at home. His closet and all of his drawers are perfectly organized, folded, and coordinated. You tease him a little about this too but he says it’s to stay prepared. He can get ready faster if he knows where everything is

(Keep in mind some of these ideas I do use for my OC x canon!! But I’d love to share them for inspo as well!!🫶)

•Egon often overworks himself and sometimes when he finally drags himself to bed (or you convince him-) He shows up and just silently crawls into bed and wraps his arms around your waist, his head on your chest so you can play with his hair and soothe the tension from work

•You often go on dates in the forest, searching for mushrooms and other interesting things. He explains to you What they are and you admire him for his passion

•Egon isn’t the best cook despite being a scientist and good with measurements, so sometimes you try to help teach him. This results in a mess most of the time but nevertheless it’s fun

•Sometimes when you kiss, Egon likes to sneak his stethoscope to you to listen to your heartbeat (another reason he loves resting with his head on your chest-)

•He loves seeing you wearing his clothes even though it’s mildly “annoying” to find his lab coat missing… again. (He doesn’t really mind that much.)

•You often finds sticky notes with little facts or observations about you scattered around his lab space and your house/apartment. You’ve noticed he likes to jot down information about you to help himself remember. Sometimes it’s just out of adoration

•His glasses fog up when you say something that flusters him. He gets red, furrows his brows, and clears his throat

•I personally love the idea of a height difference ship with Egon so I like to imagine him leaning down and reader standing on their tip toes to reach him for a kiss or hug

•He has subtle ways of showing affection, especially in Public. If you’re sitting next to each other he might have his shoe touching yours or your pinky fingers interlocking.

He isn’t big on PDA but still likes being there for you and having people be aware that you’re his partner

•Egon is very much reserved but also Proud of your relationship together. I feel like Egon isn’t the type of guy to have had many (if any—) partners in the past. He likely put this sort of thing on the back burner for years, until he met you. You’re the exception and the only priority over his work

•He loves it when you come up behind him and snake your arms around his waist while he’s at his desk. Or even those little surprise shoulder or scalp massages, he just melts

•Sometimes he matches his tie to your outfit when youre working together or going on a date

•He loves inventing little trinkets for you to help with daily tasks ypu may find difficult or annoying. When he presents one to you it’s a sweet silent vow of thoughtfulness from him, showing he listens and cares. His trinkets are always innovative and of course greatly appreciated by you

•Egon has always been stoic and more of a lone wolf. He doesn’t really *need* anyone per-say… That is until he met you.

•He won’t admit that he needs you because he understands that logically he’d be able to survive without you… it’s just be difficult.

You, however, have always been very clingy to the scientist. You definitely bring out a soft spot in him RHAY no one else gets to see

•Egon often has to work late nights. He becomes so absorbed in his work that he forgets to take care of himself sometimes. That’s when you come in ;3

•Egon is often approached with snacks and drinks from you as well as some light begging for him to take a break

•He loves seeing you wearing his clothes (which you do very very often-)

Sometimes he’ll ask where one of his buttons ups have gone and then-

There you are wearing it. He especially loves it when you sleep in his shirt and some socks

•Sometimes ypu have to convince him to come take a nap with you just to get him to sleep or take a break.

There are clever ways you trick him into taking breaks.

•When he is actually working, though, you wiggle your way into a spot in his lap to sit and watch. You want to be close to him any chance you get.

He doesn’t mind, though. He never tries to pry you off. Only sometimes he may adjust you for a Better view of his desk but he wouldn’t dare move you away

Sometimes you fall asleep against his shoulder as he’s working and he finds this endearing.

When this happens he sometimes sets his work aside long enough to carry you to the couch, tuck you in, and kiss your head. When he tries to walk away, however, ypu pull him back.. now he has to lay with you- just for your sake of course, to help you go back to sleep- /sarc

•Egon loves having his hair played with and lucky for him you have an addiction to his brown curls. Sometimes when you can convince him to lay down for a bit he’ll lay with his head in your lap and your fingers carding through his hair. You’ve never seen him fall asleep so fast-

•There are also many mornings early in the firehouse where Egon’s up first (likely having never went to bed—)

And you come up behind him as he makes a drink, slipping your hands under his suit and holding him as you stand there, groggily asking him to come back to bed.

It’s hard to say no, but he has work to do. With enough convincing, you’re cuddling on the couch together.

•Egon can hardly ever say no to you. It’s not that he ever wants to, he just tries to be rational sometimes and know that there are better times fkr such things. But when you’re holding his hand and trying your best to get as close to him as you can, he finds ways to work around that.

Sometimes it’s with an arm around you and a hand on the screwdriver

Egon Spengler:

•Probably gives you the Valentine’s day lore and educates you on the holiday’s origins

•Tries to plan something nice but it’s EGON so it ends up being a little quirky too. Probably a very nice dinner date at some point :>

And he wears a little suit hueheuehe

•Tries to set aside all work just for today because he knows it’s what you want but you catch him with a pke meter in his pocket. Silenced but just in case-

•Acts ‘annoyed’ when you leave a kiss mark on him or mess up his hair but judging by the blush on his cheeks and the way he doesn’t even attempt to fix it tells you he likes it

•Probably won’t pick up on your flirting even if you’ve been together for years

•Tries to flirt himself but is very awkward about it or probably uses elaborate synonyms to convey it

•You make some valentines themed cupcakes or cookies with him to end off the night. Surprisingly for a scientist he isn’t great at baking, but he has fun with you anyway :)

Peter Venkman:

•Ohhhhh boy

•He’s so cheesy… Mind you he’s a hopeless romantic.

Prepare for cards, chocolate, flowers, teddy bears-

All the classics.

•Even though he’s kinda corny he means well and there is genuine love behind his gifts and actions. He cares a lot about you and he makes sure you know it

•Takes you on a cute date and probably a little shopping spree too. Definitely TONS of flirting and kisses

•Tries to dress up all nice but his hair is still messy

•Completely ignores everything else but you for the entire day (he’s just a puppy man when it comes to the one he’s in love with tbh-)

•The day probably ends in bed, watching some tv while he plays with your hair and rubs your back. The two of you mumble to each other, trying not to fall asleep

•Literally the cutest ever! He’s such a romantic secretly but he has the most genuine heartfelt love for you ever

•His goal is to please you and make sure you stay happy

•He’d get you a bunch of thoughtful gifts. That dress ypu said you liked? He got it. Your favorite candy? He got you the biggest bag they sell.

•He’d write a really sweet card to you as well!

•After a dinner date at your favorite restaurant He’d take you on a night drive in the Ecto-C. You two would end up in a park at dusk, watching the stars and enjoying the light breeze while you talked and he kept an arm securely around you

Seeing you in his denim jacket always stirs him up, The way its so much bigger on you and you have to hold it shut

•He’d also probably gift you some sort of romantic book from Ray’s Occult that has some paranormal elements to it. He’d write a little note on the bookmark inside

•The ray ends with the two of you falling asleep Together on the couch in his bookstore

Winston Zeddemore:

•Winston is super loyal and romantic

•He’d take you to that new restaurant you’ve been raving about. You’re not sure how he got reservations.. but when you ask he just flashes you a proud smile,”Anything for you.”

•He gives you a beautiful gold locket necklace with a picture of the two of you inside. You wear it on your date

•You can’t help but blush at how good he looks all dressed up in his suit for this nice dinner. Your dress matches his tie

•After dinner you’d get ice cream together and eat it at a table in the park while you talk and reflect on some of your favorite memories Together

•After finishing your dessert He’d give you the handwritten card he made, with little roses drawn on (or attempted-)

•The night would end with the two of you cooking together, him showing you how to make a new recipe. You always enjoy doing this with him and you’re excited to try some later
