kimiko deserved better.
and i’m not just saying that because “she’s a girl!” because let’s face it, both kimiko AND clay barely got good character arcs, but people still seem to love clay, anyway.
what’s i’m saying is that for her being the ‘token girl’, she was handled quite poorly. not only were the episodes that we’re kimiko-centered the same plot, but it kind of always ended the same way.
kimiko makes a mistake, she needs to fix it, remarks about how “weak”, “girly” she is, and then happy ending !
AND YES I KNOW. clay’s episodes were usually focused on his family troubles, but this is about kimiko. people defend clay a lot more, anyway.
kimiko was my hero growing up. not only was she the strongest, she had proven herself to be a three-dimensional character, with her being such a dedicated person, hot-headed but learnt to control it, feminine but tough, and lovely character that she deserves more attention and praise for who she is as a person.
TLDR;
kimiko deserved better, and her being handled poorly did not do any good.
jermaine should’ve become a xiaolin monk. :’((.
