Just a little canon Simon Riley drabble inspired by the above song. nothing explicit.

Simon's favorite thing about joining the military was how they took steps to strip away every aspect of who he was, to build him into who they wanted him to be. It was so similar to what his father had done to him, but this time it was his choice.

His muscles burned and strained and he grew, the yells and growls of comrades drowning out the laughter always on the back of his mind and the tip of his tongue. The smell of the barracks made him gag, the mix of sweat, cigarettes, and dirty bathrooms. Swallowing the anxious chuckles rising from the back of his throat he ripped out a growl of insults at the nasty knobheads around him.

The smell of lemon soon overtook his senses instead, the barracks shining and bright. His height and strength made men obey without a sound, something leadership picked up on quickly.

Then he went to Mexico.
