It's been a while since Quixol has had an official area for drop parties, player promotions, and mini-games. Well, with the server updating to 1.14.4, we're changing that. Quixol is happy to announce our brand new warp: Chroma Park! This amusement park is chock full of things to do, from playing mini-games with your friends to finding secrets hidden all around the park. There are currently five zones, with plans to expand later. 

Chroma Park enters into Sunset Lane, the main street of the park. While there's lots to see here, you'll definitely be interested in our outdoor amphitheatre, with a big open floor for drop parties. Behind that, you'll find Sunset Castle, the centerpiece of the park! 

To the west, you'll find the Wild West, home of Greifer's Gulch. Once a mining town, you'll now find a large rollercoaster through the abandoned Glow Mines. If you're in the mood for a fight, you can stop by Banker Brawls, our new PvP area. 

South of the Wild West is Synth Zone, where you can take a trip into the future! Take a ride through space on the Star Sheep coaster, or try to beat your friends in Lava Fishing. 

To the east of Sunset Lane is Hydro Land, the water-themed portion of the park. This is the home of Project Salsa, otherwise known as Slappy Salmon. It's back and even better than before, so get ready to slap your way to victory! 

Below Hydro Land is Verdant Vale, located in a lush and lively forest. Here you can play a magical game of Mush Golf and try to beat the high scores, or check out the new and improved Sheep Pit! In an exciting update, the game can now be started without mod help.

With the introduction of Chroma Park, we're adding two new warps. The first is /warp ChromaPark, to bring you to the outdoor amphitheater. This is where we'll be doing our drop parties, and you'll find the donation chests for them here. Our second new warp is /warp minigames, to bring you to our minigame building on Sunset Lane. From here you'll be able to warp to the park's notable attractions. 

We wanted to give you all a few highlights, but there's plenty more we didn't mention, too. Spend some time at Chroma Park and find out what else there is to see!

Welcome to Port Tourmaline!

After many months, the long-anticipated marketplace for the world Ghalea is complete. Welcome to Port Tourmaline, a bustling marketplace carved into the side of a mountain. Studded in extravagant looking gemstones, the sleek cliff-faces compliment the dazzling feel of the market. Basically: it’s the central hub for buying and selling items & services on QuixolMC!

Our party last sunday was really something special. We surpassed our previous record for most people online at once, and hit a stunning 55 concurrent players! Wow!!! Thank you so much for everyone who made it out.

The party, of course, was to celebrate the opening of this new server location. You can get to Port Tourmaline using /warp market!

Also included in the release yesterday was a brand-new ultra-sized admin shop: the deco shop! Built by admin skyler, you can buy nearly 200 decorative heads for spicing up your builds on the server with. You can walk there from the market, or, alternatively, use /warp decoshop!

A great deal of work went into the making of port tourmaline, and we think it really shows. The layout of this shopping area means that every single player shop is visible from the center of the warp, and we even have (slightly) more shop spaces available than before.

For those of you who may not know, our old marketplace, Amanita, was a humble shopping area that we used in our previous world, Protos. You can still go there with /warp oldmarket. Since the release of Amanita, we’ve done a lot to balance the kind of money you can earn both from Jobs, as well as the prices you can sell things for at the admin shops, and even the cost of renting a shop space out.

All in all, a lot of work has gone into making the economy on Quixol as well-balanced and playtested as possible, as we’ve had more than a year and a half of experience with the Jobs plugin, as well as the ins and outs of an active server economy in general.
