as a trans male, i have to say since the chapter dropped in english i've been horribly disappointed with the way they revealed that mutsukis sex was female. i feel like the acceptable language to use when dealing with a transgender person is overall handled better in the official eng translation than in the official one, but that could be just be cultural differences. then again, haise walking in on a shirtless tooru was cliche as hell and made me kinda roll my eyes. i don't like it when (/1)
animes stray away from the manga, but if they're going to change anything, i'm glad it's this. also for 5 chapters we thought tooru was a cisgender male, so maybe they're trying to recreate the whole time dragging out thing. if it's going to be revealed in a way that it was in the anime, i really hope it's with the mutsurie hug. maybe him coming out to urie or something. as of now, i really believe mutsukis transgender, and will until he says "im okay with being a girl/i want to be a girl" (/2)
Yeah, I also think it’s been handled really quite confusingly in the manga; a lot of that may indeed have to do with cultural differences though! But I can’t comment.
The Mutsurie hug had better be a great scene and I’m really looking forward to it (fave scene in the entire manga!). I’ll continue to call Mutsuki by the pronouns he presents as unless he should state he desires to be called something else, and right now that’s as a male. *side eyes mangastream with bitterness*
