Ggu:ll patch and LP, Dool setlist (hey, I already ordered their vinyl boxset on the internet!). Both bands killed it, although Dool already has a special place in my heart //
Ended the night at the very cool local metal pub //
Perfect concert night! 🌹

Probably one thing to describe modern Seoul is the fact that Coffee shops are almost everywhere, parallel to this is the rising popularity of Tea Shops here in Manila. From here and there Tea stores are popping out like mushrooms to serve the demand from its enthusiast. However as per my examination there is no Korean Tea house here in the Philippines, that is why I kept on dreaming that one day it will be commercially introduce here in our country.
Boseong-gun is a county that is located in the Southern region in the Jeollado province, South Korea. Famous for its green tea and its plantation, it was hailed by visitkorea.com as the largest tea-growing county in Korea. To attract more interest to the public (both local and foreign); every May, the county holds its annual Green Tea festival.
                                    What is Nok Cha?
Nok Cha or Green tea is probably the most famous tea of all. Tea drinking (dado) has been a culture and tradition in Korea. It is not only linked to a variety of health benefits, but Dado is also a mediation that cleanses the mind and soul.
If you’re a person who can’t drink tea by it’s own a good way to enjoy your tea, is paired it up with traditional desserts that are delicious, visually appealing and nutritious. Below are some of the Korean rice cakes and confectionary.
                                    Songpyeon (송편)
is a half-moon shaped  rice cake that is famous and enjoyed during Chuseok ( Thanks Giving Day. ) It usually contains sweet fillings like sesame seeds, honey, red bean paste and chestnut paste. Different Korean Provinces have their own distinct Songpyeon;
                                  Ggul Tteok (꿀떡)
Is very similar with the half-moon shaped rice cake from the outer taste, but its name actually point outs that ggul or honey is the one inside it.
                                    Bam Man Jyu
usually shaped like a rounded bun with variation of fillings like bam or chestnut. It is likely identical to Japanese Manju or Chinese Mantou. Modern day manjyu has cute design like smiling faces and animals.
                                       Yagwa
is a kind of Hangwa or Korean traditional confectionery. Usually it is shaped like a flower and it is made from flour, then fried and dipped in honey.
                                    Gangjeong (ê°•ì •)
is a rice puffed candy , that is usually served in ancestral rites and lunar new years day (Seollal.)
Since there is no Korean tea and Traditional cake house that specialises here, K-marts are still the best way to go for satisfying one’s craving for cha and sweets in the Philippines. So far the Korean traditional cakes and Hangwa that I’ve tried here are delicious, creatively done, and easily to be sold out. How about you, what is your favourite Korean tea and snacks? Or do you like to pair up your Korean desserts with a Traditional Punch?  Kindly tell me, so we could know which is popular in different countries.
PS: Just to update you all; I’ve tasted Hobak Tteok and Maesil Cha a month ago, but they aren’t my personal favorite because of the hobak’s grainy texture and maesil’s kiddy-paracetamol-like-taste. However a Korean friend told me that they are good for your health. On the other hand my personal favorite is Songpyeon rice cake with mongo filling ~ the texture of the mongo filling is smooth and the taste ~ is approved by my sweet tooth.
If you want to try various tteoks,a day old rice cake couldn’t be as satisfying compared to those freshly made ones - the outer part hardness and is hard to chew. Be sure to buy those newly produce ones .
