01: select the layer u wanna cut in half and double click to add a simple stroke

02: use the lasso tool or pen tool to select where u want the split to be and how u want it to look. go as crazy as u want tbh i just kept it really simple to demonstrate. something like this: 

03: keep the layer selected and go to layer > new > layer via cut

04: u will now have two halfs of one image, just move one layer a bit to the right and he other one a bit to the left and u r done! 

(this is the texture i used) 01: use the texture on multiply or just as a bg depending on ur gfx

02: make a copy of the texture layer and edit it so that it has good contrast and not a lot of noise (i used surface blur to get rid of most of it) etc. then save it as a psd, u can delete the edited layer again

03: either merge all ur text layers or convert for smart filters

04: go to filter > distort > displace (u can play around with the settings here to see what looks best) and select the texture layer psd u just saved

05: add adjustment layers to brighten it up if u want. i also painted over the parts i didnt want with some white... done! 

first off here are some of my fav fonts:for big text: exodus, liquido, mono rgo, big john / slim joe, kayak sans, bebas neue, fortika, dubielfor small text: myriad pro, calibri, segoe ui, gadugi, small fonts (yes, that’s the font name lol)i also just go trough the standard windows fonts and randomly choose one of them a lot.

(here are also some of my typography tips if you need them)as for if i’m sticking with the same fonts: for stuff like my url or just some filler text i usually always go with the fonts i listed under small text but overall i try not to use the same fonts for the main text on every graphic bc i want them to look different each time, u know?i totally understand that, i struggle a lot with font choosing too ;;tbh i don’t really remember how i made the letters but i tried to recreate them and i’m pretty sure i made them this way but keep in mind that i have no clue if this is the easiest or even the right way.3D letters in illustrator:1. type a letter with the type tool.2. make sure the letter is selected and go to effect (top bar) > 3D > extrude & bevel.3. this windows should open:

4. choose the options u want and click ok.5. make sure your letter is selected and go to object > expand appearance.6. make sure the letter is selected and choose your colors on the fill tab on your tool side bar.

7. congrats u made a 3D letter. u can make more letters/complete words or import them into ps (click and drag) to edit them into your gfx!(8. if you have any weird overlapping lines etc. you may need to clean it up with the shape builder tool, just select it (shift+m) and connect pieces that belong together.)
