Daddies day in the Grove universe

[Cade]

Today I am out of the office for once, and I’m working on some academic work for the college. My mom put in a good word for me at the university, so I am assisting with some curriculum for the students in the college of medicine. I really love being a doctor. I love helping people. I also love assisting with academia and definitely see myself getting into lecturing. 

While I’m working, I hear someone call my name. 

Voice: Hi Cadence. 

You have got to be fucking kidding me. 

Cade: Ava? Ava: It’s been some time.  Ava: You look amazing.  Cade: *Silent* Ava: Can I sit down with you? 

Cade: I’m not sure that’s a good idea. 

Ava: I promise, I’m not here to cause drama.  Ava: I just happened to see you and wanted to say hi. 

*Ava sits down*

Cade: Did you send me flowers? Ava: You got them, I was afraid you didn’t. Ava: I did. I just wanted to congratulate you on your achievements. 

Cade: Well, thank you; however it was not necessary.  Cade: I shouldn't even be talking to you. 

Ava: Why? Because of your wife? Cade: No, because I had a restraining order against you, Ava.  Cade: In fact, I’m going to go.  Ava: Cade, wait. Can I just say this… Ava: I’m sorry.  Ava: I never wanted our friendship to end so turbulent. 

Ava: I know what I did was wrong, and I’ve been paying for it since the last time I saw you.  Ava: I’ve been working on myself the last few years, and I promise; I'm not that person anymore.  Cade: That’s good to hear.  Ava: I was hoping maybe we could catch up.  Cade: Ava, we are not friends. 

Ava: I know. I’m hoping maybe after we have lunch, you’ll reconsider.  Cade: There’s nothing -  Ava: Just think about it, please.  Ava: If you decide to do it, I’ll meet you back here on Friday at noon. 

Ava: I’m really happy I got to see you, Cadence. 

*Ava walks away*
