The Gravity Falls Fandom this week for some fucking reason:

Ugly chapter link again - oh well. Chapter 18 of Fade to White - Grunkle Bill is up!! I only have 1k words written for the next chapter so I'm not sure I'll be able to upload Friday but I'll do my best! In the meantime, here's a chapter excerpt

"I can assure you everything is fine now, Dipper. A case of... miscommunication is all. It seems I have to work on it with more people than just Stanley."

Ford directed that last part to Mabel. She'd taken on the roll of mediator / demander of peace as Stan and Ford got used to living together again, on a boat of all places. Every fight over stray coffee grounds or cheating at poker games exploded to the point Dipper was shocked neither had been thrown overboard (that they knew of, he supposed).

Following the arguments came Ford's regret, especially if Stan had an episode of memory loss right after, and Stan struggling with his depression again, both too stubborn to talk things out until Mabel intervened. They'd gotten better at it, but still had regular check-ins with both of them to prove they were getting along.

There hadn't been any big fights they knew of since they returned to Gravity Falls, so it had been jarring to wake up to screaming, both of them wondering if they were about to bear witness to an actual fight, not just the aftermath of petty old men on separate video calls.

A few hours early for me, but I'm too excited about this chapter. This is (almost) everything yall have been waiting for! Medium spice warning, here's an excerpt because I'm far too excited for yall to finally see this chapter.

Stepping away from the tree, he sighed, looking around, debating heading back to apologize, when something caught his eye.

Just within sight, a small familiar hand outstretched.

Bill stepped around the tree blocking his view, entering a small clearing.

Almost mockingly sat in a beam of sunlight, was him.

His body.

Bill froze as Ford started talking about the duck-tective-athon planned, moving his second sip of coffee around in his mouth. He hadn't detected it at first, not until he swallowed and that familiar bitter, almost metallic taste stuck around. Bill swallowed his second mouthful, confirming what he suspected.
