This night was an incredibly liberating way to end a very shitty day. It was by far the most empowering thing to be loud, and make people *cough skeevy boys who always have to be the loudest, biggest, take-up-the-most-space-est cough* MOVE THE FUCK OVER for the girls/queer people in the crowd (even if some of them did stare me down / continue to push me and other femmes out of the way, for the rest of the night) for a handful of time the front of the stage was swarmed with the faces of those who are continuously (both literally and figuratively) pushed out of the way, stepped on, beat on, groped, etc. at punk/hardcore shows (and pretty much everywhere else). FEMMES, you DESERVE to be seen and listened to! You deserve to exist prominently and loudly! I am so proud of the people in this community who put this event together, and absolutely honored that I was able to share the stage with so many passionate and talented artists, and got to be a part of an phenomenal benefit for @plannedparenthood .
