Calls for dyslexia label to be scrapped
Apparently there are calls for the label of dyslexia to be scrapped. Nice to know that apparently I am just thick. These people really piss me off: I can understand the calls to help people with reading difficulties; but if you are dyslexic you need the extra help. You can't just say: Nope doesn't exist. You are just stupid. Sorry. You should have worked harder. HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW HARD I HAVE HAD TO WORK TO GET ANYWHERE IN LIFE! HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT I HAVE HAD TO PUT IN TO EVEN THE MOST SIMPLE WORK!
These people are not dyslexic. They have no idea what it is like. I have been through so much, taken a hell of a lot of shit in one way or another, and the only way I have gotten through school is the extra help, from them and my dyslexic family, and a hell of a lot of hard work.Â
Now they want to send us through the cracks. They want to write us off again. I am so angry, and yet as I sit here I am in tears as no one seems to ever give a damn about us. I knew that it would happen one day: people who have disabilities would always get the short end of the straw, it was just a matter of time until the shoe dropped.Â
Yes, help all with reading trouble. But you are so naive if you think that that is all there is to dyslexia. There is so much more than that. I can't believe that we are about to get written off. Again.
