Basics Of An Autoresponder
Today, Iâm going to give you a GetResponse tutorial. You might be looking for a review on GetResponse, but my goal really isnât to give you a review but rather a âhow toâ with GetResponse. Most of you that are thinking about doing an online marketing business probably are thinking about how to get leads.  Itâs not that hard to get the leads when you have a great lead capture page.
But what happens when they are opting for your capture page?
If youâre new to online marketing and want to do things the right way out of the gate, youâll want to continue reading (watch the video below too!).
Iâve seen a lot of companies take fresh new people and give them a capture page but then tell them that all the leads they capture will go into the âsystemâ and be then the system will email the leads. Thatâs great for the first month at max, but you want to claim those leads and have a record of them so that you can be sure you have them as an asset to your business.
For this reason, you should have an autoresponder that will automatically add them to a sequence of emails that you have previously written. Most companies also have a sequence of emails that you can inject into your marketing if you need time to create your own personalized emails.
The issue that always seems to rear its ugly head here is new people donât know what to write. In this case, I suggest taking the emails that the company has already written and customized them for you. Add a signature, a picture, and change the title of the email.
Changing the titles are going to help you more than hurt you for one simple reason. Company emails are being sent out by more than yourself and if you copy the emails verbatim, youâre going to be placed into a bucket of e-mailer that looks similar to google, bing, yahoo, and worst of all your autoresponder company.
The reason you want to stay off the radar of your autoresponder company is that they can provide the service but then put you on a bad IP that will result in VERY POOR deliverability (less than .5% â average is 10%). You canât build a digital business on those kinds of numbers.
Some of the things you need when starting a home business online are:
Product to sell â either a physical product or informational product.  Informational products are the best to sell as you can make the most profit from them.  (No inventory is needed â  sign up as an affiliate and youâll get free coaching, and help with getting your business into the profit zone.
Auto Responder â This will enable you to collect leads, as stated above, so you can communicate with them about your business and keep them up to date on whatâs going on. Get yourself a 30-day FREE trial of GetResponse.  If you would rather use a different setup, I would also recommend using Aweber because they are just as reliable as GetResponse.  They have a $1 trial for 30 days.
Lead Capture Page Builderâ You are more than welcome to use the link that your company provides to get leads for your business and they are very good pages/videos that you can use to promote your business. However, you may want to stand out from the crowd. This means youâll need to have customized CPÂ (Capture Pages).
The Basics To Start Your Home Business Online.
Thereâs much more to setting up a home business. This GetResponse Tutorial will help you with many of the other autoresponders as well. it seems that the industry is starting to go away from the mass email to everyone model. Getting your online business setup with marketing automation is really smart to do right out of the gate.
First off, I do believe youâll need to start your 30-day free trial of GetResponse. This is highly recommended so you will begin to familiarize yourself with the software. They have made big changes to their email system. Itâs more friendly to your leads and you as well. For instance, youâll have access to workflows.
Workflows are there to help a lead go through the process of getting them the information they want at the time they want. Itâs not a linear email system. Workflows will deliver an email based on the usersâ actions. If they donât open the email, or they do, there are things happening in the background that score the userâs interaction.
The one really cool automated thing you can do with workflows and rules are to clean your list.
Lead Scoring is another new feature that GetResponse has added for upgraded members. The scoring is going to help you figure out who you are resonating with and literally find out who is interested in what you have to offer. Lead scoring is a feature that is mainly found in the upper echelon autoresponders.
Campaigns are another part of the marketing automation that youâll need to understand. Basically, in a nutshell, you will be creating a campaign (sequence) of emails that youâll attach to the workflows. Thatâs about as simple as an explanation I can give you. Yes, there are different ways that people look at and understand things. However, I believe itâs as simple as that to explain.
GetResponse Tutorial: Why Use Marketing Automation?
The old way of email marketing is no longer a good method â although it still gets results. The new method is to use workflows that run campaigns. These workflows can send one-off emails based on an action. Then, from there do many other actions as well. For instance, put someone into a campaign of users who do not open emails. You can then send an email once a month. This would let users know you still want to communicate with them. Then youâll see if you can re-engage those that are not engaged users. Thatâs just one of the many ideas you can use workflows to your advantage.
As you can see to the right, is a list of products that GetResponse offers. However, as with any company, there are certain products that they specialize in. For GetResponse, itâs the autoresponder. That said, I would not recommend the CRM (Customer Relationship Manager), Webinars or Landing pages. These products are pretty new as of 2017. Going forward they may be a viable option and if youâre into saving money, you could give them a trial.
If your able to spend some money to set your business up for massive gains, I would suggest LeadPages rather than the landing pages feature within GetResponse. Iâd also suggest that you use Zoom as your webinar tool in the beginning and beyond as well. Zoom is a free product handles up to 50 users. Beyond that, you will start paying a monthly premium.
GetResponse Product Considerations
The only reason to give GetResponse a shot on the CRM side is that it would be instantly integrated into your list already. In other words, you would not have to do any setup from a third-party CRM. The flip side is, would you go through the setup if you knew that the CRM from a third-party is better?
To explain to you what each of the products is on the right would be a waste of time on most of the items. However, marketing automation is just what it says it is. But to brand themselves and make it open to other tools, they named it marketing automation. Marketing automation includes workflows and campaigns.
