"Getchoo" is the second track on Weezer's famed 1996 album, Pinkerton. I've always found it interesting that, when people rank the songs of Pinkerton, "Getchoo" always seems to be near the bottom; I've wondered whether it's because many people actually dislike "Getchoo", or if it's simply because the other songs on the album are just more "classic".
In any case, when I first listened to Pinkerton a few years ago, I initially hated the album because I had just come from falling in love with Blue, so of course I disliked the distortion and grunginess of their second release; "Getchoo" is a perfect example of this, from its overwhelming distortion to the vocalizations Rivers does at the end of the song. However, the more I listened to the album, the more it began to grow on me. Admittedly, I do still prefer a number of other Weezer albums over Pinkerton, and I still very much view Blue as my go-to, but dang, can Pinkerton really hit me in the right spot sometimes. "Getchoo" is again a perfect example of this; I've grown to love just how dirty the guitar tone of this track is, to the point where the guitars almost seem synthesized, and to a degree I even like the weird vocalizations Rivers throws in every once in a while.
