“Please, don’t look at me… Stop looking at me like that!” Vil screams, cowering away from you. “Why? I wanted to become the most beautiful in the world, but why am I so–so ugly! I’m so ugly!” 

The dorm leader clutches his hair, hyperventilating. Poisonous gas seeps into the hallway.

“Roi de Poison, you’re not ugly,” Rook refutes.

You give him an incredulous expression. Vil looks pretty ugly to you. He hasn’t looked good since you became an unwilling participant in the reality TV show that’s his life. He has such an obsessive and self-important attitude. It pisses you off. 

“Yeah! Neige and Rook didn’t drink the juice!” Kalim agrees. 

You gape at Kalim with wide eyes. Is he excusing Vil’s actions? That man attempted murder! He might not have done irreversible physical damage, but you have psychological trauma. It’s been accumulating since day one. You can’t do this anymore. You have to hit him before he overblots. As a magicless student, you’re pushed to the sidelines during overblot fights. However, you have a personal grudge against Vil. You’ve put up with his pretentious behavior in your house for a month. You’re going to express your feelings with your fists.

“Please, Vil, come to your–”

You stomp up to Vil and slap him. The sound reverberates off the walls. He stares at you. His eyes are wide, and he has a searing red handprint on his face. One of his gloved hands brushes over it in disbelief. You put your hands on your hips.

“Yeah, you’re ugly,” you confirm. “You’ve been acting ugly for a while now. You almost murdered Neige because of your stupid ego and inferiority complex. Not everything is about you. You don’t get to decide you’ve lost the competition before you’ve even performed. You have a whole team behind you. You’re not being a good leader.” 

There’s a period of silence. The dorm leader stares at you. After a moment, you slap him again. 

“Your face pisses me off,” you explain, “Get your act together and stop whining. You have other things to do, like apologizing.”

Live action dp movie called Phantom.

Prologue is just dark gritty flashes of The Accident. Just like people would expect of hollywood. Just like the trailer which was all dark and gloomy and full of terrifying ghosts and dripping blood and ectoplasm.

It start with a rush to the class room, passing by familiar faces and places from the show, for the attentionfull watcher some quick ghost peeks, the FAV drifting through the streets, Wes, mr Lancer etc to pan towards sam and tucker with the empty chair in the middle and just when the character wants to sit in front there is a big explosion and 2 things become clear:

The guy we´ve been following? Dash or Kwan

There is a ghost attack and Danny is not there cuz this boy will always be late, even to his own movie.

He is still sleeping with a half finished lego curiosity model.

All the parts of danny´s human live are now shown grim and bleak, like some depressing scandivian style crime series or burton movies. There is child neglect, there is bullying, there is blood. If you would cut out the ghost part of the movie, you would be watching a gloomy CoA movie about the hardship of being an unpopular neglected teenager.

All the ghost parts are colourfull and slightly oversaturated, Wes anderson style. Marvel superhero like. Fun and just a tad unrealistic.

Cuz that is how Danny sees his life initially. He is a teenaged boy who can fly. He is excited and running away from The Trauma. But as the movie progresses we see glimpses of the Other side. Some students are watching a video of a fight we saw earlier on screen but here there is just a little bit more violence, more ectoplasm, the damage is a little more severe, danny´s ears are little more pointier, his fangs a little sharper,...

As it progresses it becomes clear that there are no characters which are reliable narrators. When jack and maddy and random victims describe a ghost attack they are shown as bloodthirsty monsters, shadows of ectoplasm and claws. When the ghost fans are supporting Phantom they depict very humanoid looking or relatable ghosts. Cujo being the clearest example of this. The audience has to start doubting who is the Real Danny and eventually, on screen, Danny starts doubting this too. Having to confront The Accident, what it means for the rest of his life/death, his humanity and that yes, he has this power which can cause so much damage and hurt and it is not all heroic saves and thrills.

Just like the audience he starts to doubt if he is safe enough to be around. He WANTS to help but at what cost?

I think this would tie in nicely with some themes off the cartoons like the Dark Dan arc and Danny trying to fit in, especially in the earlier seasons.

We see him discover the more cryptid parts of his ghost nature, the sad parts of the ghosts existence. Him realising that he deserves support and a safe home. and just when we think he has made it through his identity crisis he gets caught.

In the end credits we see Spectra leave casper high while there is a memorial meeting for missing Danny Fenton and Lancer says fuck.
