Nothing amazes me more than having family members ask you questions on your education during breaks and pressuring you to be in a mold you don’t fit into. Kindly shut up. You don’t care about us, all you care about is a stupid percentage and letter. Not our mental health or interest. In fact you shame us for having an interest that doesn’t align with what YOU want us to be. There’s no “us” when it comes to career paths it’s only YOU, you like to believe that it is “us” but there never was an “us” it was only a YOU. We had interest in taking it till we found out that the idea wasn’t ours to begin with it was YOURS. It’s just a cycle, you were pushed into a mold and got the job you hate or have no interest in. We’re failing our classes for the course because we don’t want to take them, the reason why we’re taking them is because you broke us to the point that we are ashamed of changing careers or that a hint of failure makes us look like a fool. If you think we’ll fail for pursuing our interests then I’m sorry but you’re wrong, you’re afraid that you’ll lose control of us and that we’ll outdo you. Too bad so sad but maybe don’t push a false narrative onto us when we have no interest in doing.
