Originating in German myth and folklore, the Wolpertinger is a composite creatures said to live in the Bavarian forests. It is made of several animals that live in these parts -with the head of a rabbit, body of a squirrel and horns of a deer. A similar creature, the jackalope, can be found in North American folklore, which describes a jackrabbit with an antelope's antlers.
"Proof" of these creatures exits as taxidermied remains which may be sold in regions where these myths are most prevalent. These are however made similarly to the Fiji mermaid, which was made by sewing the remains of a monkey, to a fish tail.
