The occasional stop back in time, or even forward.

Hardly anyone noticed the fifth room yet. I noticed immediately, it'd been at least a year since a new room was added. Jake, the pompous ass, was usually always the first one to get excited, he's been here the least amount of time of three years. He's always very blunt with the newcomers, usually scares them away until they feel they're desperate enough. Ian, a handsome young man with stark blue eyes in his early 20's, has been here for ten years. He never really cared about the whole soul mate thing, he just took advantage of the house. Sarah, a tiny woman with cropped black hair and green eyes, has been here for 25 years. I've been here for 28 years. All of us look the same as when we first arrived. We don't age, we don't change. We came to the house with nothing, and have nothing to go back to. Others have come and gone since, but we always stay, the three of us. The house provides everything we need or could want. I have a stable for Roach and whatever I need to get the job done. Ian has his own library that seems to have a new book each day. Jake, has far too much technology than any one person should have. Sarah, has quite an impressive collection of greenery. Her entire room is basically a greenhouse save for her bed and her work bench. None of us really understand how the house does what it does, it adds new rooms when it pleases, or when someone new will be joining us. Makes random jumps through time at a whim, the layout and structure of this place is really a mess. We wake every morning in a different location, unless of course we have a purpose. The longest place I remember staying was only for six months, it took us a little while to figure out what we were supposed to do. Sometimes Sarah has someone to heal or help, midwifery, healing tonics, potions and medicines. Sometimes just random acts of kindness. Ian helps us keep tabs on where we are at the moment, what year or century. His geographical skills are really quite astounding, no matter what time we jump to. I hunt monsters, every once in a while we will find ourselves in a remote place with a troubled town. Even suburban places plagued by what they thought was only a myth or an old wives tale. Jake seemingly has no purpose, through the three years he's been with us he seems to just lay about, play games, play with himself, and be a nuisance. The new room had a giant window, floor to ceiling length, casting natural light across the deeply colored walls. A rather lavish looking bed with Dark blue sheets and a black comforter. A television. A swing chair hanging from one of the raw wooden beams that run all throughout the house, with a vinelike plant winding up the ropes. A literal tree and branches making a sort of alcove with Dark blankets and pillows, shelves littered with old books nestled into its hollow. Interesting, most of the rooms have something defining, something that would give a hint as to the personality of the newcomer. The only defining thing I noticed was a pair of new brown riding boots peaking from the closet. Loudly down the hallway I could hear Jake already talking about the room. I only hope that this new person has stronger willpower... Sarah has already found her soulmate, we traveled pretty far back to retrieve him. He was a handsome man, very kind, rough and tough and had seemed to have been through a lot. Sarah says when the right person comes along you'll feel it, a slight tingle that's easy to displace as something else. She said when it finally happens its like some big rift in your soul has been sewn back together, a trench you didn't know was there finally filled. Euphoria, ecstasy, lightheadedness. She told Ian and I that she actually blacked out after. Yet nothing matters after that, only that one single person. The only way to truly know you've found your soulmate is to be intimate with them. I haven't lain with anyone, I don't care to. I figure I rather travel across the world and through time doing what I do best, than find a mate and drag them through this shit show that is my life. Besides, how can you have a soulmate if you don't really have a soul? Making my way down the stairs and to the kitchen, I looked out the massive windows of the house. Trees, a lake and more trees. We've been in this location for about two weeks now. Ian and Sarah have been into town trying to find out what exactly we should be doing here. The best places to go are usually the bars, drunk people like to gossip, or the local coffee shop or diner. We're on the outskirts of Firth, Idaho. Albeit beautiful its full of people who don't like things that are new, or different. Y'know, like someone with stark white hair and yellow eyes. Later tonight the three of them will make the usual rounds through town and stop at the bar before coming home. I'll be here catching up on sleep.
