Day 1: Coffee Shop AU | HP Pride Extravaganza by @gaygryffindorgal

Law student Georgie Parsons came into the coffee shop every morning for a mocha, especially during the colder months and during finals and midterms weeks. Barista Angelo della Rovere seemed to always manage to get on her nerves with his sunny disposition and slightly disarming charm. Georgie was never quite sure if she wanted to listen to him more or punch him in the face. But, after her father died unexpectedly, their relationship began to change. Angelo became someone she could turn to and they grew close before it all culminated in Angelo finally having the courage to ask her out.

It was seventh year, shortly before the Christmas holidays. Their friendship had been slowly forming the previous eighteen months or so, a far cry from where they had started. The moon was bright, illuminating the library without the need for for a lantern. They were sitting in the library, nearly three hours after curfew. As a prefect, she should have deducted points from Slytherin. She should have given him detention. But constant responsibility was exhausting, and if someone could tempt her to break the rules, it was him. They sat in silence for a while, basking in the quiet, a respite from both of their stressors.

A sound broke their silence, and Georgie jumped up, moving to stand in front of Angelo, attempting to block him from view. She didn’t relish the thought of getting detention or losing points for not performing her duties for ten minutes.

“Georgie, relax. There’s no one there,” Angelo murmured, pushing himself off the ground.

“I know. It was an owl,” she replied, turning to face him. Only she found her face millimeters away from his.

For a moment, their breaths mingled. Then, someone moved. Neither were quite sure who had made the move, but their lips met and Georgie sighed. Her fingers moved of their own accord, sinking into Angelo’s dark hair. His hands moved to pull some of her hair free from its confines. Moments later, they broke apart, their foreheads coming to rest against each other.
