I don’t know about any writings left by Ann Walker. It seems that what we know we know because of what Anne Lister wrote on her diary (she used to transcribe the letters she received for example, so we know some phrases Anne Walker wrote to Anne Lister - like the “do come quickly for I am getting dull and I want you in a thousand ways” - because Anne used to copy them in her diary). In Female Fortune Jill Liddington says that the “Walker papers that survived (and oddly, few of them have) appear to have been weeded of many more personal family records.” So there’s very little about Ann’s family and Ann Walker in general… this is all I know.

Wasn't there a pattern in how that STI that she got from Marianna spread, as in that there was proof of genital contact or at least fingering of some sort that could explain how she got it as well?

From what I figured out Anne got the STI from Mariana in 1821 (Mariana got it from Charles who got it from a servant, if I’m not mistaken) and then Anne passed it to Isabella Norcliffe (?), I think that’s how far it spread. She stops writing about it at one point and so I don’t know what happened with that, did it go away on its own when she stopped sleeping with Mariana? Or the published bits of her diaries just don’t include all that anymore? In 1832 she writes she’s afraid to catch it again. Who knows.

I don’t know exactly what kind of STI that was, I’m not sure someone figured it out yet, anyway, STI spreads through contact with infected body fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids). STI can be spread through oral sex, maybe that’s how she got infected. Anne Lister fingered her partners but not the other way around, she didn’t let them do it, I think she didn’t even do it to herself. Maybe she fingered her partner and then touched herself, passing infected vaginal secretions via her fingers... Genital contact? I guess it could be, yes.

What I read is that she never married and lived in poverty after Anne Lister's death? I wish I could remember where I read it though...

I think Anne telling Ann not to hurt her and that she is not always as strong as Ann may think she is is as close a declaration as we get. I agree Anne's actions speak volumes, and can't imagine anyone not believing she lives Ann.

YES. I totally forgot to mention that. For Anne to tell Ann not to hurt her is to admit that Ann has the capacity to hurt her, that Ann’s words and actions toward Anne matter and affect her. It’s not “I love you” but it definitely is a “You hold a place of influence in my life. Be responsible about it please...”

I mean, she doesn’t in the series and it isn’t mentioned in the diaries but we can’t be sure she never, during their marriage in real life, said it. She just may not have written down ‘i told ann i loved her today’. I still think that even though we have the diaries, we don’t know everything and can’t know? at least that is just what i think
