Unbothered and moisturised Genjii
So as I said in my last post, I participated in a Touhou Tarot zine hosted by BoonZines on Twitter. I did two pieces for it and this is the second one. There were two (maybe three? I forget) PC-98 cards in the zine and I’m happy to have been one of them.
Meria is another favorite character of mine. The Five of Swords symbolizes conflict, confrontation, and wanting to win at any cost. I’ve also read one interpretation saying it can represent the idea of pride before the fall. All in all, it seemed very fitting for a determined yet bumbling samurai.
Like the other card, this one was based on the Rider-Waite deck art. I love the dramatic angles the figures are standing at and the big, stylized clouds.
