Oh, Effie loved the forest! Her little patch in the park had been occupied by picnickers when she’d trotted into the park to spend the day lazing around with the bugs, so she’d decided to take a little trip into the woods - such a good idea! Aspen had been worried about her hurting her feet, even though she was adamant that she’d grown up in forests and couldn’t come to any harm, so her footsteps were marked by the loud squeak of her froggy rainboots. Ordinarily, she would not have gone near such a bizarre pair of foot-traps but... well, Aspen had seemed so pleased when she had pulled them on! And maybe they were a little comfy after all, no? Looking down at her new boots and wiggling her toes, the dryad paused to smile for a second before continuing her squeaky prance through the woods.
As she passed through the barriers, she let her abilities reach out naturally. Everything was so lush! Effie let her fingertips brush over fuzzy ferns and damp tree bark, letting the sensations wash over her. Ah, it was just like home... except a lot wetter and colder, perhaps. She was enjoying herself so much that she almost missed the other presence in the forest - so similar to herself and Aspen, but nothing she had met before! Oh! Following the buzzing and humming of the flora and fauna, the dryad found herself peeking around a wide oak tree to watch a woman making the tree canopy bend to her will. Delighted and without thinking, she sprung out from behind the tree, already beaming widely, and danced over to tap her newest friend on the shoulder. What a find!
