Anna's washing machine broke down. Luckily, Max knows exactly what to do.
'I have some great news!' Darya chirped as she jogged into the living room, where she found her parents watching TV. She dropped down on a seat next to them.
'What's the news?' Kristoff arched an eyebrow.
'So you know how on that last parent-teacher conference they said that I am a straight A student?'
'Yes?'
'The principal said that if I am interested, I can graduate early!' Darya clapped her hands in excitement. 'Funnily enough, they offered Max the same. Guess we are just genius siblings.'
'That's so good! We are very proud of you!' Kristoff smiled brightly. 'Max never mentioned that...'
'He said he's not going to go for it.' Darya shrugged. 'He won't be able to join university until September anyway, and he wants to keep the same schedule as Martha and Veronica so they can all move in with Dylan at the same time.'
'What about you, darling? Do you not want to stay in high school? It's only six months more.' Anna put her hand on her daughter's shoulder in a supportive manner.
'Well, I am not going to university anyway. So I figured I might just jump-start my career and open my photography studio early.'
'Darya, we will support you through whatever you decide but personally, I think it's best if you just graduate normally.' Anna explained. 'I'm not trying to diminish your accomplishments in any way but those are the only years of your life that you truly get to spend with your peers. When you graduate, everyone goes away to do their own thing. You still have so much time to open your studio, even after you graduate in June.'
'What about prom? Do you not want to become a prom queen?' Kristoff wiggled his eyebrows and Darya giggled.
'Meh, Vivian never bothered to go to hers...'
'So you can do the right thing and invite her to yours.' Kristoff pointed out. 'It's just a suggestion.' he raised his both arms in a defensive manner.
'I guess you're right.' Darya sighed. 'Maybe I really shouldn't rush. I guess those six months won't make much difference.'
'Good choice, honey.' Anna nodded. 'But remember, we're here for you no matter what you decide to do.'
'Can I invite Vivian for Christmas dinner next month?' Darya changed the subject.
'Of course. We have plenty of space at the table.' Anna smiled brightly.
The Bjorgmans work hard, as well.
