Genderswap Party Names, but they arent just Girl names that sound similar:
Michael (Mike) -> Jessica (Jess)
Reason- Michael is the most popular male name of the 1980s, and Jessica is the most popular female name of the same time.
William (Will) -> Heidi (I can’t think of a nickname now, maybe Hei or Heid)
Reason- Both William and Heidi are germanic rooted names, although Heidi was not as popular as William. They have similar name meanings, with William meaning “Protector” and Heidi meaning “Noble”
Eleven/Jane (El) -> Eleven/John (Lev)
Reason- Jane and John are very similar names, in basically every capacity. The names both mean “God is Gracious” or something along those lines, and they share the same root (Old French) because Jane is literally just feminized John
Maxine (Max) -> Victor (Vick)
They share Latin roots as well as being popular in 1920s America. (Victor has been steadily popular while Maxine was only popular around that time, but it’s fine.) Maxine means “Great” or “Greatest” and Victor means “Winner”. I’m aware it makes him feel british, but it’s a name common in both Britan and America, so fuck off.
Lucas -> Amanda (Amy)
Both are Latin rooted names that were popular in 1980s America. About 9% of Lucas’ (At least in our time, couldn’t find anything with the 1980s) are black, and about 12% of Amandas are Black.
Dustin -> Kendra
Both of Old Norse roots, and they also peaked at the same time. (Dustin’s peak was much higher than Kendra’s) Kendra means “Knowledge” which fits Dustin enough, although Dustin just means “Thunder Stone” so I don’t know how many fucks I give about the meanings of the names anymore.
———
The last names are the same. Also if the shitty update’s still up, remember to REBLOG FROM THE ROOT, and be fucking mad about it too. Thank you.
