#gender doesn't exist

*I had written this out for Facebook, but ultimately decided against posting it there. As such, it is worded like a Facebook post.* TL;DR: Can I be agender if I don't believe gender exists? Hey look, more unimportant shit that I really shouldn't be thinking about but has been wracking my brain regardless. Anyone who has had any in-depth discussion with me knows that I reject the gender spectrum, completely. It doesn't exist to me, and while I won't go up to someone and be like, "Your gender doesn't exist" in any discussion on the topic I am very vocal about my ideas of the deconstruction of all gender. If anyone's interested I have a long copypasta message I wrote to someone on my reasoning. But, the long and short of it is that I don't believe in the addition of the "non-binary" in order to combat the "binary". It only causes more division. Shouldn't we get rid of it all together? But I'm not trying to discuss gender politics on this status. My questioning comes with the idea that someone presented me with the idea that I might be agender (I'm not going to call them out, but they may see this regardless and that's okay). I had heard of the term before, but completely dismissed it because most places define it as a non-binary affiliation. How could I possibly be non-binary, if I reject the notion of gender? But the word means "without gender". So just by linguistics standards, it fits. I know I don't /have/ to identify as anything, and realistically nothing would change. I wouldn't present differently. I wouldn't use different pronouns. Actually, those close to me tend to not identify me with a pronoun at all, which really helps with this idea. It would only get brought up in discussions about gender. I dunno. Why do I care? Just kinda thinking shit on the Internet.

This is straight up BULLSHIT. Gender was created by people as a social construct to keep people divided & to keep the power in the hands of one gender. That one gender created an entire cultural history to back-up their claim to power by engendering a god that has no gender and claiming that they share the same gender as God. “Men deserve to be in power because they are so much more like God. Women are so far removed from God that they are more prone to sin, they are vulnerable without men, they must be protected or persecuted.” Like I said, BULLSHIT. Women are just as strong and able as men. And a genderless God best serves all people and all people are made in God’s image, not because of gender or race or even religion (two other social constructs), but because of the facts & properties of creation. Because of our ability to love. Because of our call to care for the Earth (the water, plants, and animals) we’ve been blessed to live with (not to rule over — we are equals to them, all earthlings). We have removed ourselves from God because of our propensity for destruction, because of our constant desire to divide and hate ourselves, and because of our complete disdain and mistreatment of the Earth we live with including the pollution of the water, the destruction of the plants, and the murder of the animals. This removal of ourselves from God’s likeness, this is an attack on God’s image as we continually claim that we still bear the image of God. That is what it means to take God’s name in vain. Gender was created as a tool of control, WE were created to express divine beauty. But we have chosen to desecrate that image.
